Project Description

The Paul Miller Autogroup approached us to aid in their rebranding of the dated “Thunderbird Cafe” located in the historic Ford dealership building in Lexington.  The project involved a complete overhaul of the Cafe and dining area, business center, and customer lounge.

In keeping with the new “green” approach of the Paul Miller’s automotive inventory, the Eco Cafe is also taking a more polished and contemporary approach.  The clean use of cool materials and color tones helps maintain a comfortable and casual feeling while being in the space.  The sweeping curves of custom punched-aluminum bulkhead and serving counter was inspired by the lines and chrome detailing of the many different cars the company sells.

Though the new aesthetic was designed to be new, fresh, and modern, the design team also wanted to maintain a certain retro “vibe” that would pay homage to the mid-century forms of the famous Paul Miller Ford showroom.
