Project Description

The goals of this project were to provide an initial survey of an existing property in Barbourville, KY.  Intended for use by the Xerox Corporation to renovate space for a Federal contract with the United States Department of Homeland Security.  Following our survey, we presented a scope of work with recommendations for a “Gap Analysis” scope intended to meet NARA requirements and an opinion for the facility fit-up.  NARA requirements for storage of Federal Records are stringent particularly with respect to the design of systems which would protect against the damage of files, protecting individuals and buildings involved in managing files, and providing documentation of methods involved in meeting these regulations.

Our working relationship with Xerox, and the resulting relationship with the Federal Government, provided us with a valuable and rewarding experience.
