Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center Renovation
This targeted renovation project at the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center focused on activating underutilized areas of the facility to better support Lexington’s arts and cultural programming. The work involved the complete buildout of the previously unfinished third floor, which now includes a flexible 2,500 SF multipurpose space for events, performances, and exhibitions, as well as a 1,000 SF artist workshop with dedicated casework and an art sink. These additions expand the center’s capacity for creative use and community engagement.
The former café area on the first floor was also transformed to serve a dual purpose. The new layout features a multipurpose room, catering kitchen, storage space, and updated AV systems, making it well-suited for receptions, exhibitions, and other events. Accessibility upgrades, restrooms, mechanical and electrical systems, and circulation improvements were addressed throughout the renovated areas.
By strategically focusing on previously unoccupied or outdated spaces, the project delivers meaningful new functionality to a key downtown arts venue—bringing long-vacant areas to life and enhancing opportunities for collaboration, education, and artistic expression.
